Ricoland Kyoto Jujo Branch

In this project, black-painted bamboo was used to create a chic and subdued inuyarai fence at the store front. By leaving moderate gaps between the bamboo and integrating lighting within, the partition emits a soft glow at night, giving it a striking presence. Traditionally, inuyarai was used to protect exterior walls from mud splashes and dog urine, but it is now widely recognized as a traditional design motif symbolizing Kyoto.
