E-13Hammer-Split Black-Dyed Bamboo Panel

HISHIGI SOMEKURO DAKE | ひしぎ 染黒竹

Hammer-split panels are crafted from carefully selected bamboo using a traditional technique called hishigi and laminated onto a plywood base. The hishigi process involves skillfully striking the bamboo with specialized hammer to flatten it, creating a unique cracked texture.

The bright, pure tones of black-dyed bamboo combined with the delicate hishigi pattern lend a refined and calming atmosphere to any space. These panels harmonize beautifully with traditional interiors such as ryotei, inns, and tea rooms, as well as contemporary Japanese-modern designs. Custom sizes and production are available, offering flexible options for panel orientation, finishing methods, and design specifications.
